Event Information
On behalf of the Cape Fear Electrical Contractors Association, we are proud to sponsor with Connect for Success NC at the 2025 V.O.L.T. Competition. Connect for Success NC hosts V.O.L.T. (Vocational Occupational Learning Trade) Events for high school students interested specifically in electrical careers. Students from New Hanover, Ashley, Topsail and Pender High Schools learn how to bend conduit, run wires, and put their classroom learning to use in a real-world setting. High school teams are paired up with our local electrical contractor members and work hands-on with students mentoring and developing professional relationships. Industry members use our VOLT event to scope out each student's skill level and talent...even if they are on another team! On-site interviews are often conducted and students presented with future job opportunities for summer internships and/or full-time positions upon graduation.
